Michael Crossan is a London Artist whose studio is based at the Koppel Project Hive . Michael is a multi-disciplinary Artist who In June 2016 completed his MFA  (Merit) at Wimbledon College of Arts.

Art has been a passion and a mainstay in Michael’s life, a means of self-expression, a way of connecting with the world, and a vehicle of healing, growth, and understanding. When he is able to pass on what he has learned in a way that allows students to connect with their own creative ideas, it is deeply enjoyable and fulfilling. His early experiences in education were not always positive. He experienced difficulties and often avoided school due to dyslexia and family circumstances, so when he returned to study as an adult, he felt considerable anxiety and doubt. He knew first-hand the extent to which skilled and caring teachers can encourage personal growth, confidence, and artistic development in adult learners, and is motivated by the possibility that he might have a positive role in another’s journeys.

He is teaching art to adults in both traditional continuing education settings as well as in health and social care environments. He is running workshops exploring art for wellbeing at Kentish Town Health Centre which began in early September 2018 and is planning further collaboration with KTHC. Michael is also exploring opportunities to offer volunteer art workshops in the charity/social care sector where he has some connections through previous exhibitions and other projects.
